Abstract

The design of village corridors plays a strategic role in establishing the foundational infrastructure of tourism villages, particularly in areas that possess strong cultural and landscape potential, such as Tounelet Village. This study aims to formulate design guidelines for a village corridor that functions both as a circulation route and an experiential space for visitors, through an evaluative approach to existing conditions and tourist activity needs. The research methods include field observation, mapping of physical corridor elements, spatial quality analysis using parameters such as walkability, safety, legibility, and visual comfort, as well as brief interviews with area users and local tourism actors.

The findings indicate that the corridor of Tounelet Village holds strong potential as supporting infrastructure for a tourism village; however, several challenges remain, including limited pedestrian walkway width, irregular streetscape elements, insufficient signage and tourist information, and a lack of supporting visitor facilities. Based on these findings, this study proposes several design recommendations, including more pedestrian-friendly walkway arrangements, organization of streetscape elements, provision of bilingual informational signage, improved lighting quality, and the enhancement of village identity through the use of local materials and culturally based aesthetic elements.

The study concludes that an integrated design approach to village corridors not only improves spatial comfort and orientation but also strengthens the image of Tounelet Village as a culturally rooted and community-based tourism destination.
